Help Welcome Newcomers

Participate in a short video to welcome new immigrants to our community.

Date:   Friday, January 29th, 2010

Place:    Wolf Performance Hall

Time:   Between 9:30 A.M. and 2:30 P.M.

Qualifications: 
• must be an immigrant to London or Middlesex County, preferably in the last five years
• must be at least 18 years of age
• willing to sign a basic media release
• no other experience required

The purpose of the video is to welcome new immigrants and showcase the City of London and Middlesex County. Each participant will say to the camera:  “London is my home” (or whichever town/village in the county applies.)  You also be asked to say this in your native language if it English is not your first language.

Participants will be asked to provide one word to describe what you like best about this area; for example: shopping, restaurants, diversity, sense of belonging, sense of community, sports, theatre, festivals, parks, golf, bike paths, new friends … whatever it is that you like best about being here.

The video will be posted on the www.welcome.london.ca and the www.welcome.middlesexcounty.ca websites.
