If you do not have a highschool diploma, WIL's General Educational Development (GED) program may be an appropriate solution to develop your employment options.
The Process
- Register for the GED Pre-Test Assessment by contacting WIL.
- Write a GED Pre-Test Assessment (3 to 5 hours) at WIL to determine how well you will do on the Ministry exam
- Meet with WIL's staff to review your scores and readiness to write the Ministry exam. If your GED Pre-Test Assessment results show you are ready to write the exam, we will help you register.
- If your GED Pre-Test Assessment results show you require some educational upgrading before writing the exam, our trained staff will develop a personalized preparation plan that will work for you.
- WIL's specialized computer software will help you prepare. Our Computer Assisted Learning Centre provides you with the support of an on-site facilitator and resources for self-directed study. WIL's Computer Assisted Learning Centre is open 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Mon - Thurs). Computer assisted training can also be arranged by Internet from your own home to supplement your work in our Computer Assisted Learning Centre.
In order to participate you must be:
- An Ontario resident
- 18 years or older
- Out of school for more than 1 year
- A minimum Canadian Language Benchmark Level 8 ESL (if English is your second language)
